Verse on the back of the card says:
A shiny golden safety pin
Has quite a tale to tell
About a frightened little girl
Who heard the big school bell.
T'was time for kindergarten
And such a scary day
Her mama held her extra close
And sent her on his way.
But not without the safety pin
With loads of love tucked in it
She said "T'will hlep you have good luck
No matter where you pin it."
"And if you start to feel afraid
Or unsure as can be
Just rub your lucky safety pin
And then, dear, think of me."
The magic of the safety pin
Made her feel brave and tall
She soon felt safe and didn't need
That safety pin at all.
Now when this little girl grows up
She'll find there is no other
As precious as the bond between
A small girl and her mother.
