Verse on the back of the card says:
A shiny golden safety pin
Has quite a tale to tell
About a frightened little boy
Who heard the big school bell
T'was time for kindergarten
And such a scary day
His mama held him extra close
And sent him on his way.
But not without the safety pin
With loads of love tucked in it
She said "T'will help you have good luck
No matter where you pin it."
"And if you start to feel unsure
Or frightened as can be
Just rub your lucky safety pin
And then, son, think of me."
The magic of the safety pin
Made him feel brave and tall
He soon felt safe and didn't need
That safety pin at all.
